From Jennifer Kyrnin, your Guide to Web Design / HTML
In honor of the new year, I focused a lot on new technologies in January. Microdata, microformats, CSS3 and HTML5 all are gaining better and better support among browsers. And the many articles I published this month can help you get started learning these so you're ready when your customers are. Be sure to check the links towards the bottom of the newsletter for the "Featured Articles" as these include even more new articles from January.

Please forward this newsletter, in its entirety, to your colleagues, coworkers and friends, anyone you think would like to learn more about web design, HTML, and web development.

Readers’ Choice Awards 2012
Readers' Choice Awards Nominations are open for the Readers' Choice Awards, and some categories have a lot of great suggestions, but others, like Twitter and Facebook are sparse. If you visit any sites or Twitter feeds for web designers, I would appreciate nominations. The nominations will be open until February 15th.

What is Microdata?
Microdata and microformats are two new specifications to add semantic information to your web pages.

CSS Transformations versus Transitions
CSS3 adds some exciting new functions transformations and transitions. Learn the difference so you don't get them mixed up. But don't feel bad if you do, I still write transform when I mean translate and vice versa. :-)
