From Jennifer Kyrnin, your Guide to Web Design / HTML
There are a lot of typography elements that you can adjust with CSS, but there are several that, while you can make some small adjustments, CSS doesn't have a direct impact. Plus this week I have a post about HTML tabs—both the character and the navigation. And you can style your HR elements so that they are not nearly as ugly as the default tag.

Typography on the Web Is Usually Adjusted with CSS
But not always. There are ways to fix rag, widows, and orphans with CSS, but the best solution to these typographical problems is often just an adjustment to the text. This article will help you understand what rag, widows, and orphans are and how to fix them with and without CSS. You will also learn about the style properties that look like they would help, but really don’t.

Tabs in HTML
There are two types of tabs you can use in web designs: tabs in navigation and the tab character. There are benefits to both types. Learn how to use tabs in your web pages.

Styling HTML Lines
The HR element creates horizontal lines in web pages, and in HTML5 it has the semantic meaning of a thematic break in the content. But regardless of whether you're using it just as a line or as a thematic break, the reality is that this tag is boring looking. But with CSS, you can make lines look however you want them to look. You can change the size, color, and even use an image instead of a line.
